Ressor

Backup for managed service providers

Every client, every machine, every drive. One pane of glass.

Ressor is backup software built for MSPs from the ground up. Encrypted file-level and bare-metal image backup for Windows fleets, rotation-aware drive pools, and a multi-tenant portal that tells you the moment something needs attention.

Runs on your hardware and your drives. Agents talk outbound only.

What you get

Fully featured where it counts. Simple everywhere else.

Rotation

Rotation-aware drive pools

Local USB or network shares. Each drive keeps its own independent backup chain, so weekly swaps just work. Plug a drive in and the backup runs on insert.

Coverage

Files and bare metal

Encrypted, deduplicated file-level backup plus full bare-metal images. Restore one file to a folder or a whole machine from Windows recovery.

Policy

Policy sets

Define a backup policy once and assign it to a machine, a group, or a whole client. Nearest assignment wins. No per-machine config files to babysit.

Onboarding

Zero-touch enrollment

One command with a site token enrolls a machine, pulls its policy, and starts the schedule. New PC at a client site is protected in minutes.

Alerting

Alerts that matter

Stale rotation drives and machines that go quiet get flagged on the dashboard and emailed to you. Agent status is also a plain file your RMM can check.

Trust

Built to be trusted

Microsoft 365 single sign-on, strict tenant isolation in the portal, outbound-only agents, and configs encrypted at rest. Restores are drilled, not assumed.

How it works

Three steps from bare machine to managed backup.

1

Enroll

Install the agent and run one command with your site's token. The machine appears in your portal under the right client.

ress-agent enroll <token>
2

Assign a policy

Pick a policy set in the portal. The agent pulls it, schedules its jobs, and hot-reloads whenever you change it. Nothing to touch on the endpoint.

3

Watch one pane

Every client's machines, jobs, and rotation drives on one dashboard. When a restore is needed, list restore points and pull files back on any machine that can reach the drive.

Under the hood

Proven engines, honest engineering.

Ressor does not reinvent storage. File-level backup runs on kopia, an open-source engine with encryption and deduplication built in. Bare-metal images use Windows' own imaging, so a machine restores from the standard Windows recovery environment with no vendor boot disk. Our code is the part that makes it manageable at fleet scale: rotation, policies, enrollment, alerting, and the portal.

Every claim on this page is backed by a drill we actually ran, including full bare-metal restores to a blank disk.

Pilot program

Run it on real machines before you commit to anything.

We're onboarding a small number of MSPs as pilot partners. You get the full product on your own fleet, direct access to the people building it, and a real say in the roadmap. We get honest feedback from people who live this every day.

Tell us a bit about your shop and we'll get back to you.

No mailing list, no spam. We only use this to talk to you about the pilot.
